Rationale: Television plays an enormous role in our everyday lives, but few know the history, nor how it works, nor the effects on our lives and psyche. That’s what this mini lesson is all about. Insert it in a larger unit about communications and/or social media. This lesson is designed as a direct information lesson. However, if extended into a larger unit, the lesson is easily redesigned as a research lesson or the model for research using a variety of resources. If doing a general inventions unit, combine this entry with 10 Inventors Who Changed the World and/or The Day-Glo Brothers.
